We con­nect Burun­di­an youth to cut­ting-edge tech­nolo­gies to trans­form edu­ca­tion and cre­ate the experts of tomor­row.

Dis­cov­er the 2025 edi­tion

One country, one youth, immense potential.

Burun­di is a land of youth and ener­gy. But for a young tal­ent in the heart of East Africa, access to glob­al tech­ni­cal skills remains an uphill bat­tle. With a Human Devel­op­ment Index rank­ing the coun­try 185th world­wide and a high unem­ploy­ment rate, the dig­i­tal divide is a tan­gi­ble real­i­ty. Yet, the desire to learn is strong. What is miss­ing is sim­ply the bridge between this moti­va­tion and today’s tech­no­log­i­cal tools.

This is why the KWIGA project was born.

Excellence as the answer

KWIGA is not just a train­ing pro­gram, it is a cat­a­lyst for change. Born from the vision of the UBUNTU col­lec­tive and sup­port­ed the KWIGA Asso­ci­a­tion since 2025, we col­lab­o­rate with French aca­d­e­m­ic excel­lence, notably Prof. Daniel Hag­i­mont of INP Toulouse. Our mis­sion is twofold: to fill the gap in edu­ca­tion­al infra­struc­ture and expose stu­dents to inter­na­tion­al stan­dards. We don’t just “show” tech­nol­o­gy, we train those who will mas­ter it.

The drivers of transformation

KWIGA Sum­mer School – The school of tech­ni­cal excel­lence.

Every year, we orga­nize inten­sive train­ing ses­sions in Burun­di for stu­dents and pro­fes­sion­als.

  • Advanced train­ing: Cloud Com­put­ing, DevOps, Secu­ri­ty, Dis­trib­uted Sys­tems.

  • Hackathons: Com­pe­ti­tions designed to iden­ti­fy tal­ent (Video games, Vir­tu­al­iza­tion, Aca­d­e­m­ic appli­ca­tions).

  • Impact: Already 3 suc­cess­ful edi­tions (2023, 2024, 2025), bring­ing togeth­er over 30 pas­sion­ate par­tic­i­pants each year.

KWIGA CoForm — Trans­form­ing the sys­tem from with­in.

We don’t just want to train stu­dents, we want to equip those who train them.

  • Knowl­edge Trans­fer: Import­ing French Teach­ing Units (UE) to Burun­di­an uni­ver­si­ties.

  • Co-devel­op­ment: Mod­ern­iz­ing local cur­ric­u­la to align with inter­na­tion­al stan­dards.
